Directory structure

This directory GENESIS Level 1A, Level 1B, and Level 2 products:
Level 2 data include, for each occultation,
  Temperature profile
  Refractivity profile
  Pressure profile
  Water vapor profile
Level 1B data include, for each occultation,
  Atmospheric doppler
  Atmospheric bending
Level 1A data include, for each occultation,
  Atmospheric excess phase delay
  SNR

The data are in three formats:
.txt files are ASCII format. 
.hdf files are HDF-EOS format.
.xml files are XML format. 

.txt files contain full information.
.xml files contain full information for L2, and partial information for L1a and L1b.

Directory structure is https://genesis.jpl.nasa.gov/ftp/pub/genesis/glevels/SCNAME/VERSION/yYYYY/YYYY-MM-DD/LEVEL/FORMAT/

where SCNAME is the LEO satellite name (champ, sacc, gpsmet, etc.)
      VERSION is product version number. Current standard version is 1p0 (i.e., "1.0").
      YYYY is year
      MM is two-digit month (01-12)
      DD is two-digit day (01-31)
      LEVEL is product level number (L1a, L1b, L2)
      FORMAT is format type (txt, hdf, xml)

File names are, e.g., 

20011002_1637chm_g44_1p0.L1a.txt.gz

where 20011001 = year 2001, month 10, day-of-month 01
      1637     = occultation start time is 16:37 (GPS time)
      chm      = receiver is chm ("chm" indicates "CHAMP")
      g44      = transmitter is g44 ("g44" indicates "GPS SVN 44")
      1p0      = product version 1p0 (1.0)
      L1a      = product level is L1a (L1a, L1b, or L2)
      txt      = product format is txt (txt, hdf, or xml)
This file has also been compressed using gzip, as indicated by the ".gz" extension.
